Marine Layer is a purveyor of premium casual apparel known for its “absurdly soft” clothing, The brand has a name inspired by the clouds that hug the coastline. The founders launched the brand selling t-shirts out of a 1969 VW bus and the company made a name for itself by pioneering super soft tee shirts made from recycled Beachwood and proprietary fabrics. The brand’s vision is simple—clothing suited for a somewhat urban, somewhat active lifestyle.
The Heights location is Marine Layer’s first store in Houston and is set in a dramatically remodeled 1940-vintage retail building at the corner of Heights Blvd. and 7th Street.
